Meet Sally Damm, New BEP Board Member

BEP is pleased that Sally Damm has chosen to volunteer her expertise by serving on our Board of Directors. Sally brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, which you may read more about on her website.

We recently asked her some questions, and would like to share Sally’s answers:

Why did you decide to join BEP?

With 40 plus years of experience in the health care field as an administrator in the long-term-care sector, I believe my experience with successful capital campaigns, grant writing, and construction projects, and delivering enhanced services to adults in need will be an asset to the Brookings Empowerment Project.  Creating business plans, leading strategic planning sessions and promoting the importance of care to local, county, state and national elected and appointed officials prepared me for the challenges of promoting the possibilities of supporting individuals and families managing mental illness. I am a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Qualified Assisted Living Administrator, Licensed Social Worker Associate, and I have a sound grasp of the challenges, proven methods and the vision required for continual organizational growth and the ability to effectively respond to the mission of BEP..

What would you want to accomplish during your tenure as a BEP Board Member?

I am self-employed with a mission to advocate for the aging and/or people in need of services, witness for their protection, and mentor for positive outcomes in the field of healthcare/housing and support services. With over 40 years of leadership experience in not-for-profit healthcare, I hope to use my professional knowledge and experience to decrease the stigma associated with mental illness, to humanize the individual and caregivers, and to educate the public on the issue of caring for and caring about people experiencing the effects of this disease.

Thank you, Sally!

BEP is truly fortunate to have you on our Board of Directors.
